This stunning piece pays tribute to the Plains Indian war ponies. The circle around the eye makes the horses see farther, and the lightning on the legs makes the horses run faster. The markings on the tail and head make the horses hair flow straighter. The horses are in shades of blue to represent a blue roan.
Within his artwork John uses ink and color pencil on antique documents.
