In Blackfoot (Piikani) culture, Morning Star is the son of Moon and Sun: he is a great hero and the focus of many legends. As a symbol, Morning Star is represented as a cross made of four triangles, and is often painted on medicine lodges. “The Morning Star symbol brings you luck, positive dreams, and blessings,” shares Piikani artist and educator John Isaiah Pepion, designer of our Morning Star Earrings.
